Two New Directors Elected to the Alberta Seed Growers Board

Chelsea Tomlinson will represent seed growers at the national level

February 22, 2021 (Lacombe, AB) – The Alberta Seed Growers (ASG) membership have elected two new directors to their board following the (virtual) annual general meeting on February 4, 2021.

Sarah Weigum and Daniel Limoges were elected as provincial directors, while Chelsea Tomlinson was chosen by the ASG membership to sit as a national director on the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association board of directors. Tomlinson’s appointment will be official at the CSGA AGM in April 2021.

The Alberta Seed Growers’ Association is one of seven provincial or branch associations that serve as a communication link with the national organization. The provincial board provides marketing and advocacy for members locally, regionally and nationally.

Alberta is a key player in Canada’s seed industry – accounting for more than a quarter of Canada’s pedigreed seed acres. New director Limoges operates Limoges Forage & Grasses Ltd. in Girouxville, AB., with his wife, Rosanne, and son, Bradley. Weigum is a second-generation seed grower and farms in Three Hills, AB.

National director Tomlinson farms with her husband, Shane, and two young daughters at Redwater, AB.
